Getting started
Locinote runs on iOS and Android, and installs as an app on Windows and Mac straight from your browser. It's launching soon — join the waitlistto be first in. Once you're in, create an account with Google, Apple, or an email and password, and your notes sync securely across every device you sign in on.
The first thing most people do is bring their old notes across. If you're coming from Evernote, head straight to the import step below.
Import from Evernote
Evernote can export your notes to a .enex file. Locinote reads that file directly and rebuilds your notes — formatting, checklists, tables, tags, timestamps, and attachments included.
- In Evernote, select a notebook (or all notes) and choose Export → ENEX (.enex).
- In Locinote, open Settings → Import and choose your
.enexfile. - Watch the progress bar — each Evernote notebook becomes a Locinote notebook. Large accounts stream in without freezing.
The import is idempotent: if it's interrupted or you run the same file twice, you won't get duplicates. Note images and PDFs are preserved as attachments.
Notebooks & tags
Notebooks are your top-level folders; tags cut across them. Give either a color to find things fast. Pin the notes you return to, and use sort and filter to narrow a long list. Notes can live in one notebook and carry as many tags as you like.
Search & OCR
Search covers your titles, note text, and tags. On Pro, Locinote also reads the text inside your images and PDFs using on-device OCR — so a photo of a receipt, a whiteboard, or a scanned letter becomes fully searchable.
Your privacy is the point: OCR runs entirely on your device. Photos are never uploaded to a server to be read.
Scanning documents
Tap the camera/scan button on a note to capture a document. Locinote finds the page edges, straightens it, and saves a crisp PDF into the note. Because of OCR, that scan is searchable alongside everything else.
Reminders & email-to-note
Set a reminder on any note and Locinote will nudge you with a local notification — no account-wide calendar required.
Email-to-note (Pro): you get a private inbound address. Forward or send an email to it and the message becomes a note in your Inboxnotebook automatically — great for receipts, confirmations, and clippings.
Exporting your data
This is a promise, not a feature: export is free on every plan and never paywalled. From Settings → Export you can download your notes as ENEX, Markdown, or HTML, bundled in a zip. Your notes are yours — you can leave any time and take all of them.
Account & billing
The free plan includes 100 notes and 100 MBof storage. Pro removes those limits and unlocks OCR search, the document scanner, and email-to-note.
- Pro: $1.99 / month
- Lifetime: $34.99 once — Pro forever, no subscription
Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the App Store or Google Play on the mobile app. To change or cancel, use your store's subscription settings. Restoring a purchase on a new device is one tap in Settings.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app: Settings → Delete account, then type DELETEto confirm. This removes your notes, notebooks, attachments, and sign-in record. Consider exporting first — deletion can't be undone.
FAQ
Is my data private?
Yes. Your notes sync to your own account and aren't used to train anything — there's no AI in Locinote. OCR happens on your device. See our Privacy Policy for specifics.
Does it work offline?
Yes — Locinote is local-first. Your notes open and edit instantly offline and sync when you're back online.
Which platforms are supported?
iOS, iPad, and Android as native apps; Windows and Mac via the installable web app.
What happens to my free notes if I don't upgrade?
They stay yours. You keep full access to read, edit, and export them — Pro simply lifts the limits and adds features.
